Share Your Clipboard Between Phone and PC

You copy a link on your phone and there is no clean way to get it onto your laptop, so you end up emailing it to yourself or typing it out by hand. The same goes for a screenshot you want to drop into a document.

A shared clipboard fixes it. Open one browser tab on each device and whatever you paste on one shows up on the other a second later, with nothing to install and no account to create.

How to do it

  1. Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open https://www.clipboardapp.org/en/ in a browser on each one. Devices on the same network are grouped automatically under the Same network tab. There is no code to type and no invite to send.
  3. On the phone, tap the "Paste" card once and allow clipboard access; whatever you copied (text or an image) is shared right away. On a PC, press Ctrl+V / Cmd+V anywhere on the page.
  4. To send a file instead, tap the Upload File card on a phone, or drag the files onto the page on a computer.
  5. The item appears on the other device right away. Tap it to copy it to your clipboard, or use the download button to save it.

Good to know

  • If the two devices are on different networks, switch to the Everyone tab. Items there are visible to anyone with the service open, so keep personal files and one-time codes on the same network instead.
  • Items are deleted shortly after every device leaves the page, so download what you need before you close the tab.
  • Add the page to your home screen and it opens like an app, with a share button in other apps that sends straight to it.
  • Files up to the limit shown on the upload card go through as they are; split or compress anything larger.

Questions

Does it sync my clipboard automatically?

No. Only the items you paste and send are shared. The browser never reads your clipboard on its own, which is why you paste deliberately rather than having everything copied follow you around.

Does it work between an iPhone and a Windows PC?

Yes. Anything with a current browser works, in any combination: iPhone and Windows, Android and Mac, two laptops, a tablet and a phone. There is nothing to install on either side.
